Breaking
In
Jozette has now broken in three of our quarterhorses. The
two geldings she broke in came back well broke, stress free, obedient
and a joy to get on and ride. She has made it easy for me to carry
on their training and education for the show ring. They have both
given me great pleasure in their training and at the shows and are
now rock solid western performance horses with many wins and placings
behind them.
The filly we sent up has been broken in by Jozette and James and
is very impressive and showing alot of potential. The work they
put into her was thorough and highly professional. A job well done!

Lessons, Finding A Horse, First Show Season
I started lessons with Jozette in March 2006 (see my "Customer
feedback" in archives). Since that time I've been lucky enough to
have lessons on another of the fabulous GB Stud school horses, Oaks
Little Romeo - a little dude with a ton of attitude who really loves
his work. A former champion in his own right and beautifully trained,
Romeo has had a huge part to play in helping me advance and refine
my western riding skills.
In August 2007 I decided to purchase a horse of my own. As a professional
trainer Jozette schools/breaks in a large number of horses so has
an in-depth knowledge of the areas in which particular horses will
excel and of which horses and humans will form the best partnerships.
As it turned out Jozette already had me in mind for a talented young
horse called Possum that she had broken in the previous year and
whom she had heard might be coming on to the market. It wasn't possible
for me to travel to Feilding to see him but this wasn't a problem
as Jozette pulled out all the stops for me, contacting his owner,
organising for a video to be prepared and sent to Auckland and,
once I'd decided to purchase (based purely on the video and on Jozette's
recommendation), handling all the negotiations regarding payment,
transportation, etc.
Early September 2007, saw Jozette with me as I met Possum for the
first time as he stepped off the transporter - and I wasn't disappointed.
At only 3½ years old he was very calm and laid back with impeccable
manners - but then, being one of Jozette's break-ins I knew he would
be. Six weeks later we came home from our first show with two 1st
placings and have had a very successful show season since, placing
second to Jozette on two occasions (can't ask for much better than
that!) and winning Runner Up Open High Point at the KWRC Memorial
Day show in February.
With the show season now over Possum has just completed lead change
training with Jozette. Now it's my turn - I start lead change lessons
on Romeo next week - and I can't wait!
I cannot speak highly enough of my GB Stud experience. I know without
a doubt that whatever your equine requirements you're on the way
to success if you see Jozette at GB Stud first. Jozette, thank you
again for teaming me up with such a special wee horse and for all
you have done and continue to do for me. I'm looking forward to
spending many more hours under your expert guidance in the future.

Breaking In, Training & Lessons
From the time I started western 8 years ago, I have used
Jozette for any training I may have required and have always found
her to be excellent both with understanding my horse’s needs as
well as my own, right through from green brokes to senior horses.
I have now had the pleasure of having my 2 year old broken in and
after 8 weeks with Jozette he is a dream to work with. It’s amazing
what she can achieve in this little amount of time. From never having
had a saddle on to being able to sidepass, back around corners,
walk over bridges and calmly trail ride anywhere without hesitation
or trepidation, it’s a fantastic transformation.
I would recommend anyone wanting their horse to have a great start
to their riding careers to send them to Jozette, whether it be for
competitive western riding or just hacking around the farm. All
horses come back respectful, responsive, soft and a pleasure to
have around. I would have no hesitation to recommend Jozette & GB
Stud to anyone.

Breaking In & Lessons
I was fortunate to meet Jozette when I decided to change
from riding English for many years to Western.
Whilst I enjoy the more relaxed however precise riding style, it
has taken me a while to fully make the change. I was very reliant
on Jozette for providing the horse, gear and the lessons.
Eventually I bought myself a 1 year old paint, 'R Buck Neigh Kid'
so it was still going to be a few years before this little one would
be ready for riding. Towards the end of 2007 he arrived at Jozette's
for the start of his training. It was great to go out and see his
progress during this time. Six weeks later he was ready for me to
take home. Thanks to Jozette he has been such a nice horse to be
around and I have enjoyed every ride on him.
I am now equipped with a lovely comfortable saddle made by Ian Saunders
and I am really looking forward to continuing my lessons with Jozette
and conquering the Western style.

Film Students Project
Dear Jozette,
On behalf of myself and the crew I would like to take this opportunity
to thank you for allowing us to shoot our documentary project "Day
In The Life" about you and your business.
We really appreciated your generosity, as without your support the
project would not have been able to go ahead.
Our thanks once again.
